Hi, I’m Faith!

I discovered my passion for science and faith amid the redwoods of Northern California. Each summer, I attended a camp near California’s oldest State Park, where the natural world—banana slugs leaving trails under fern fronds, towering trees bathed in soft, natural light, and the Milky Way illuminating moonless nights—inspired a lifelong wonder and curiosity.

My formative years in Christian K–12 schools fostered both a profound interest in the universe and a thoughtful skepticism toward the tools used to study it. Pursuing a double major in Astronomy and Religion at Whitman College, I engaged deeply with both faith and scientific inquiry, ultimately finding that each offered robust and complementary ways of understanding our world. Further, my Master’s in Curriculum Studies & Teacher Education at Stanford University confirmed my belief in the transformative power of the classroom to explore the relationship between science and faith.

Over the past 15 years, my career has interwoven the strands of science, faith, and education in diverse and impactful ways. I have developed curricula for NASA, contributed to cutting-edge astrophysics research, taught hundreds of high school students physics and astronomy, and managed a $1-million grant at the nonprofit BioLogos, among other accomplishments.

Today I am a science educator with a passion for improving how children and youth understand the relationship between science and faith. My deep hope is that students would more deeply know, worship, and serve God through their experiences with science and the natural world.
